SPiCE International 2024, held at the Hilton Taipei Sinban, brought together global gaming leaders, industry innovators and key decision-makers for two days of insightful discussions and networking.

Subsequent discussions included Joe Pisano CEO of Jade Entertainment) and Alexander Czajkowski exploring AI’s role in regulating markets like The Philippines, and John Calderon’s presentation on localization. Calderon emphasized that true localization extends beyond language to include cultural considerations, payment preferences, and game mechanics.

On the second day, Kyle Wiltshire delivered his keynote address, “Data-Driven Trends Across Asia’s Gaming Markets,” where he shared TESTA’s latest benchmarks and insights into emerging client demands across the region. His presentation laid the foundation for further discussions, such as the panel moderated by David (Tsan-Yu) Lee of Lin & Partners Attorneys at Law. Titled Strategic Edge: Why Taiwan Stands Out as an Optimal Hub for Global Market Ventures, the session featured Kyle, Calvin Shueh (Mahjong Masters), and Ben Chiou (Lin & Partners), who collectively highlighted Taiwan’s advantages as a gateway for international expansion.

Other notable sessions included Andrew Pearson CEO of Intelligencia AI discussing the transformative potential of generative AI in personalized marketing and Hironori Inagaki of Nishimura & Asahi tackling the pressing issue of illegal sports betting in Japan. A campfire session on Southeast Asia’s iGaming market brought together thought leaders Joe Pisano, Rickard Bergkvist (Players Today), Evan S., and Rosalind Wade CEO of Winna Media) to explore regional trends, regulatory updates, and innovative approaches to market challenges.

Scott Marshall, CEO of BCVR Immersive, captured the audience’s imagination with his presentation on augmented reality’s potential to revolutionize branding and mobile gaming experiences. Meanwhile, a panel on AI’s impact on data and streaming services, moderated by Alexander Czajkowski, featured insights from Andrew Pearson, Sherman Lin (Lin & Partners), Andreas Ioannou (Everneed AI), Siddharth Gupta (SilverAce Media), and Alex Kuo (Gaia Information Technology), addressing how AI is reshaping content delivery and audience engagement.

The day concluded with fireside chats, including a deep dive into digital assets in gaming led by Alexander Czajkowski and Rickard Bergkvist, and an exploration of Asia’s burgeoning eSports scene with Andrew Pearson and Esat Balkır of Duelit. Both sessions left attendees with actionable insights and strategies for navigating these rapidly evolving fields.
